On the rivers - 4

These photos were taken at German towns along the Main river.

Still sailing the Danube River, we entered Germany and continued passing beautiful scenery and stopped at many interesting, mostly small, towns on the way.

As we got further into the cruise we encountered a number of bridges so low to the water that the upper deck was cleared, railings dropped and the wheelhouse lowered hydraulically so the ship could pass under.

Durnstein
We stopped here for a couple of hours in the morning. It's a tiny but beatiful village, dominated by a striking blue church tower.In the afternoon we sailed through the picturesque Wachau Valley en-route to Melk.
