Diamond Princess - February 2017 - Post 1

On 1st. February I flew to Singapore for 16 days aboard one of my favourite ships, Diamond Princess, around South East Asia. Before the cruise I spent 2 nights at the very comfortable Tanglin Club then after disembarking the ship back in Singapore I spent 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza hotel at Changi airport before flying home on 21st. February. Another most enjoyable trip.

A great flight with Singapore Airlines.

Keeping the Krug and Dom flowing.

The Tanglin Club.

Sailing from Singapore.

At Port Klang.

Back in Singapore for the day.

A favourite haunt of mine - the Singapore Cricket Club.

Arriving at Kota Kinabalu on a very hot morning.

River traffic at Phu My, Vietnam.
Crew boat drill.

Pre-dinner cocktail on my balcony, off the coast of Thailand.

Berthing at Laem Chabang, port for Bangkok.

At the bridge meeting prior to shifting berths in Laem Chabang.

The Senior Second Officer and me while I did a compass adjustment during the shift-ship.

Just prior to sailing from Laem Chabang.

At anchor off Phuket.

My spacious and comfortable cabin.

With one of the chefs at the Elite Lounge pre-dinner hors d'ouevres selection. The large tray is full of smoked salmon.

With my wonderful table waiters, Reika from Japan and Julius from the Philippines.

Another lovely waiter, Miea, from Japan.

With the fabulous Elite Lounge team in Skywalkers.

My plane (on the right) back to Melbourne, Taken from my hotel room.

I like the old-Shanghai feel of this poster in Changi airport.

The superb Singapore Airlines lounge at Changi airport.

After a delicious lunch of champagne, caviar followed by fillet steak, time to close my cabin doors and enjoy a movie before arrival in Melbourne.
At the most Princess cruise days travelled awards  (I came in second!).
